The i-Miev is powered by new permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. With the i-Miev drawing all its power from the 47kW motor and fully charged lithium-ion batteries, it can deliver its maximum torque instantly, so you'll enjoy strong acceleration right through to the regulated 130km/h top speed.
The i-Miev's advanced electric motor requires no conventional transmission. There is no clutch between the motor and the gearbox which makes the design much simpler that a conventional internal combustion engine powered vehicle and allows the high level of torque to be transmitted without any loss through drive train restrictions.
Maximise driving efficiency and optimise range. Drive mode is used during normal driving for optimal power delivery. Econo-Drive limits power consumption and provides light regenerative braking. Braking mode is for use in steep downhill driving where strong regenerative braking is required.
The i-Miev stores energy for propulsion in a highly advanced lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 16kWh. i-Miev can drive up to 160km* on a full charge and has the convenience of charging at home or at the office. *Range may vary depending on a number of factors including use of climate controls, driving style, road conditions, number of passengers and the condition of the vehicle.
The dash display on i-Miev keeps you in touch with everything i-Miev is doing while you are driving. With Drive, Eco and Brake modes clearly illustrated on the display screen. You can also find out how much charge is left and when in brake mode how much power i-Miev is regenerating.

The i-Miev charges from empty to full from a 240V 15A power supply in eight hours. i-Miev is capable of fast charging from empty to 80% capacity within 30 minutes from a quick charge power supply.
