MULTI-MEDIA SYSTEM

Long family drives just got shorter with a 9” fullcolour panoramic screen, which includes two infrared cordless headphones so your rear passengers can watch a DVD and not bother other passengers. They can even plug into an auxiliary jack that is compatible with multi-media devices such as game consoles and digital cameras.

Mitsubis hi Multi Comm unication System (MMCS) MMCS gives you total control over everything you need, all in one place and all easily accessible via the 7" full colour in-dash touch screen. It really is the ultimate total control system, with:

satellite navigation

Always find your way with the easy touch screen satellite navigation system. You can store frequently used addresses and search for points of interest like local restaurants, hotels or service stations.

reversing camera

The driver’s rear field of view can be seen on screen when the reverse gear is engaged. Combined with reversing sensors, it makes parking a breeze.

ipod integration*

While your iPod is charging in the glovebox, you can access and control all of its music through the MMCS touch screen’s iPod interface.

dvd PLAYER

As you drive, the rear passengers can watch a DVD which is controlled from MMCS. When the car is stationary, DVDs can be viewed from both the front and rear seats.

COMMON RAIL TURBO DIESEL ENGINE

The very latest in diesel engine technology delivers power without compromise. The new 3.2 litre Common Rail turbo-charged diesel yields not only next generation quietness, smoothness, fuel efficiency and emission reduction through an advanced common rail system, but delivers 147kW of power and 441Nm of grunty torque.

MIVEC ENGINE

The 3.8 litre V6 MIVEC engine (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and lift Electronic Control) offers the latest technology with a lighter engine and intelligent valve timing technology to deliver improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions, while providing improved driveability. The MIVEC engine matches your driving style to minimise fuel consumption at lower revs while increasing air flow at high revs for greater performance up to an awesome 184kW.

TOWING CAPACITY

Pajero’s impressive power and torque ensure you can tow your boat, caravan or trailer with supreme confidence. 5 door models now have a mammoth 3000kg* towing capacity.

Pajero offers a choice of intelligent transmissions perfectly matched to either engine and your preferred driving style. A smooth-shifting 5-speed, all syncromesh manual gearbox delivers the ultimate hands-on driving experience.

Or if you prefer automatic, the INVECS II ‘Smart Logic’ 5-speed automatic transmission with Sports Mode will be sure to provide the control you need.

Sports Mode allows you to manually shift gears without using a clutch. The advantage is that this clutch-free operation reduces rev and torque loss usually associated with engaging gears, maintaining precious momentum in off-road situations.

5-SPEED AUTOMATIC WITH INVECS II ‘SMART LOGIC’

To provide smoother shifting, the INVECS II ‘Smart Logic’ transmission system’s on-board computer learns and adapts to each driver’s preferences by recording engine and foot braking data. The control logic then adapts the gearshift timing to suit the driver’s style. You’ll have effortless acceleration and a more predictable ride.

RISE MONOCOQUE BODY

Mitsubishi’s RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) monocoque body system with integrated chassis is a highly rigid one-piece shell that has come through the punishing ups and downs of the world’s toughest rally like a true champion.

HIGH RIGIDITY DECK

Joining A-pillars with deck realises high rigid cabin structures: construction minimises backward movement of steering column reducing injury to the driver.

LARGE BODY JOINT REINFORCEMENTS

Addition of large reinforcements to each body joint significantly increases rigidity of joints.

REAR STRAIGHT FRAMES

In rear collisions, rear straight frames efficiently absorb energy and combine with high rigidity of tailgate area to minimize cabin intrusion to protect passengers in the rear.

CRUSHABLE ZONES

Two crushable zones fore and aft of engine and suspension mounts, absorb energy; if collision intrusion reaches the engine, engine and second crushable zones will absorb and dissipate collision energy.

SIDE AND CURTAIN AIRBAGS

For optimal protection of driver and passengers – front and back – in the event of a side-on collision. The side airbags inflate from the side of the seat and the curtain airbags activate from the roof.

DRIVER AND PASSENGER SRS AIRBAGS

Standard Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) airbags on all models provide essential protection in the event of a frontal collision.

Mitsubishi’s superior visibility concept combines with many different features to give you greater visibility of your environment while ensuring other drivers are aware of your Pajero on the road.

REVERSING CAMERA

Part of the Mitsubishi Multi Communication System, Pajero’s reversing camera supports the driver’s rear field of view, automatically appearing on screen when the reverse gear is engaged. It makes parking easy and offers safety and peace of mind when you’re backing in or out of driveways.

CENTRALLY MOUNTED SPARE WHEEL

The spare wheel is centred and in a lowered position providing greater rearward visibility. Reversing sensors and a reversing camera give you confidence when reversing.

HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE HEADLAMPS

Exceed and X models take the Pajero visibility concept to the next level with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps providing optimal night time visibility with a wide view and a bright, daylight-type illumination. Automatic headlamp levelling ensures the headlamp beam’s aim is accurate and can help to prevent dazzling drivers of oncoming vehicles. This is coupled with headlamp washers to ensure maximum visibility is maintained.

SIDE INDICATOR LIGHT

Integrated turn indicators on large exterior rear view mirrors provide greater visibility and clear indications to other road users of your actions.
